Angel Beats, Charlotte, and Rewrite

I've been a huge fan of Key's works for a long time, especially Kanon, Air, and Clannad. I also happened to love Angel Beats and Little Busters, too. Wait, did I just mention Angel Beats? Well, that's good, because that's one of the things we'll be talking about today.

You see, about two weeks ago, it was announced that there would be a new project announced on December 22, and it had something to do with Angel Beats. Upon seeing this news, I got really excited. From the bottom of my heart, I hoped that it was a second season of Angel Beats. Of course, with the way it ended, that would be impossible, yet possible from the Another Epilogue special. I hated Another Epilogue, because I felt that it didn't do the series justice at all from just those 2 minutes.

Wait. Earlier, I mentioned that it was going to be announced on December 22. Isn't December 22 actually today?

Yes, the big announcement was made today! I should start by saying that it wasn't a second season of Angel Beats like I hoped it was, but luckily, there actually is going to be more Angel Beats!

On June 24, 2015, there will be a Blu-ray box of the series released in Japan, and with that Blu-ray box will come a new Angel Beats OVA! I still have no idea what will happen in this OVA, but from its title, Hell's Kitchen, I'm guessing it will be about the SSS trying to cook and failing. An official release date for the Angel Beats visual novel has been announced, too; the first game in this six-part series will be released on May 29, 2015, not too long before the OVA. As a reaction, I will just say this; I will be looking forward to watching the OVA, and maybe I should re-watch the series to prepare. I have a Blu-ray for the series, but I haven't placed it in the Blu-ray player yet, for some reason. I also hope that the visual novel will be translated by TLWiki or something so I could play it myself!

And now, it's time for part 2 of my post. The Angel Beats OVA wasn't the only announcement made today in regards to Key. Apparently, sometime in 2015, there will be a new anime called "Charlotte". Again, I have no idea what it will be about, but it seems to have something to do with stars. I'm also guessing that there will also be a female character named Charlotte. This is an original project, like Angel Beats, and it's even be produced by the same staff. I'm willing to bet $5 that Key will eventually create a visual novel adaptation of Charlotte, too. Okay, I'm not really betting money on it, but you know what I mean. Anyway, all I can say is that I just hope that Charlotte ends up being at least close to as good as Angel Beats, or Key, you would have let me down for the first time ever.

There are some other games from Key that don't have anime adaptations, but those are just spin-offs of games that do. The only ones I can think of that doesn't are Rewrite and Planetarian. I have played Planetarian, and with it being as short as it is, I think that if it's going to get animated at all, it would work better as an anime movie than a TV anime. Let's talk about Rewrite, though. I haven't played that game yet; in fact, no matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to get the patch downloaded properly. Thus, once again, I don't know what it's about. I do know that the following quote has something to do with it, though.

"Can it be rewritten, that fate of hers?"

Didn't Jun Maeda, who has worked on pretty much every Key project there is, say that he was interested in doing a Rewrite anime? Honestly, if an anime for Rewrite is announced soon, it would relieve me of all of the stress I have to go through to try to download the patch of the game. I would still like to know how I'm supposed to download the game properly so I can play the game just in case the Rewrite anime announcement never comes. Even so, a Rewrite anime would be nice, since I would have easier access to it, considering all of the problems I'm having.

Well, that's all I have to say for now. I've been sick since two days ago, but I'm almost completely better now. I was hoping that I'd be better before Christmas, and apparently, a Christmas miracle is happening to me! Anyway, are any of you who are reading this looking forward to anything I've mentioned? Are you also looking forward to Christmas, which is just three days from today? I know I am! I hope ya'll have a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year, too!
